Months ago as my sister’s & I were leaving to go out we noticed a little minor bird on my front lawn being attacked by other birds. We scared them away & moved the bird to a safer spot but unfortunately didn’t survive his injuries.

Deciding not to let his bones go to waste I moved him to the back yard & left him out in the sun to dry out & let the ants have their way with him.

This is where he lives now.

Deconstructed his skeleton & feathers plucked. Some bones were so brittle that they crumbled instantly.

He was boiled for a few seconds to soften the decomposed tissue that remained on his skull & ribcage. The tissue was scraped off with a razor blade.

Cleaned.

I wired him back together as best I could.
I probably should have looked up the anatomy of a bird prior to doing this… His breastbone is the wrong way around!
